Foote Creek Rim Wind Project Opening
Back to Foote Creek Rim project page.

Participating in a renewable energy project opening ceremony is a rewarding experience indeed. On July 16, 1999, RNP Director Rachel Shimshak and board member Ralph Cavanagh flew to Wyoming to celebrate the dedication of the Foote Creek Rim wind project. Wyoming Governor Jim Geringer and others who worked hard to make this project happen joined in on the fun.

Rachel joined representatives from the Bureau of Land Management, Bonneville Power Administration, SeaWest, Tomen Power, Natural Resources Defense Council, Eugene Water and Electric Board and PacifiCorp in celebrating the project, which produces 43 MW of clean electricity. Another 25 MW at the site belongs to a Colorado utility.

RNP board member Ralph Cavanagh, second from left, braves the wind with Barrett Stambler and Dennis Steinberg of PacifiCorp, Susie Steinberg, and Gail Miller of PacifiCorp.
