A Little Help from Our Friends
Additional ways to help support Earth Share

You probably hear about Earth Share most often in the fall, when workplace-giving campaigns that include Earth Share happen in hundreds of workplaces in Oregon.  But in addition to giving at the office, there are other ways to help Earth Share help our environment thrive. Contact Ariel Zimmer, (503) 223-9015 or ariel@earthshare-oregon.org to find out more.

  1. Is it time to get rid of that old vehicle?
Earth Share of Oregon now accepts vehicle donations. Simply contact Earth Share and we will take care of the rest! There is no cost to you, and 50% of all proceeds from the sale of your vehicle will support Earth Share. And rest assured, cars that have no resale value will be recycled according to Oregon state environmental laws for car recycling and wrecking.
  2. Ditch AAA’s eco-unfriendly lobbying for Better World Club
Another way to help Earth Share is to trade in your old membership with AAA for a membership with Better World Club. If you want the safety and security of proven 24-hour roadside assistance, but don’t want to support AAA’s goals for more roads, less mass transit, more pollution and more gas guzzling, make the switch to Better World Club - the greener, cooler alternative.  And, if you sign up using the Better World Club link on Earth Share’s website (www.earthshare-oregon.org), Earth Share gets $5.00, and YOU get 10 percent off your yearly membership!
  3. Recycle an old cell phone (and help your co-workers recycle theirs, too!)
It seems everyone these days has one or two old cellular phones just taking up space at home or in the office.  We look at them and think, “I can’t just throw these into the garbage, but what can I do with them?” Earth Share of Oregon has the solution.

Drop off your cell phone at any Oregonians Credit Union, https://www.ofcu.com/loc.html, or contact Earth Share to set up a cell phone collection box where you work.  Anyone can drop off their old cell phones, PDAs, Blackberry Devices, Digital Cameras, phone batteries, chargers and accessories during the drive.  All items will be recycled, refurbished or reused to the highest standards. In turn, Earth Share receives a small portion of the value for newer phones.
